Free Speech Isn’t Free - FUCK THE FSC!

Denver, Co. - The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) announced today a stipulation between the parties in Free Speech Coalition et al v. Alberto Gonzales, under which the U.S. Department of Justice agrees that the regulations relating to the federal record-keeping and labeling law, 18 U.S.C. §2257, will not be enforced against plaintiffs and all FSC members until September 7, 2005.
So what does this mean? It means that the FSC and the Department of Justice have entered into an unholy alliance where a select few are granted immunity from the law while the rest of us are fair game. Does this sound like something an organization even remotely interested in free speech would do? By striking a deal with the Devil in such a way the FSC has proven that they don’t give fiddley fuck about free speech. Hired speech maybe, but free, as in “free for all”, hardly…
I understand that the FSC technically can only represent their card holding members, but in choosing an immoral solution to an immoral problem they have demonstrated one thing, and one thing only to the authorities: That the Adult Industry (which the FSC claims to represent) will never be able to show a united front to fight the injustices forced upon us by what looks more and more like a nazi government; everybody is too busy trying to cover their own backs. THIS WILL COME BACK TO BITE US ALL IN THE ASS!
So is it over and out for online porn? Nah…I don’t think so. The FSC has managed to get temporary amnesty for its members, but the real battle has yet to be fought. I am confident (God knows why) that justice and common sense will prevail in the end, and I’m also staking my personal freedom on the belief that the DoJ doesn’t have the guts to prosecute me while allowing FSC members to fling filth freely.
The sky is still up there and it isn’t scheduled to come down until September 7th. Until the it’s business as usual.
